4 of 5 Great Material, But a Little Dated September 26, 2014
Reviewer: Joe Allyn from Wichita, KS, United States
This eight page pamphlet is a helpful defense of the RPCNA's view of elder as a single office. Wright sets the stage with reference to Calvin and Westminster who differentiate ministers from ruling elders. Wright points to the Scriptures, that the office of elder is one with two emphasized gifts: ruling and teaching. He also lists the functions of elders succinctly.

This booklet is a little dated (my copy says that Dr. Wright is professor of New Testament at RPTS!), but it still would be helpful for someone coming to the RPCNA from another Reformed Church. I'd like to see an updated version that emphasizes more the functions of the eldership and the benefits to believers in a local congregation.
