In that lifelong race called "the Christian life," prayer runs big. Wayne Spear's "Talking to God: A Theology of Prayer" is the best little book on this big subject. Christians raise many questions about prayer. Few books answer them so well as Professor Spear's "Talking to God."
“Talking to God” deals with all sorts of useful issues: What is prayer? To whom do we pray? What is the role of Jesus Christ in prayer? What is the role of the Holy Spirit in prayer? What must the one who prays believe about prayer? What results should we hope for in our prayers? How do we answer those who object to prayer? In this book we learn that true prayer is always answered. Our prayers are always faulty; God never is. Hence, when we pray in faith in Christ, he perfects our faulty prayers and presents them before the Father. To those perfected prayers, the Father always says “Yes!”
Sincere readers, running that lifelong race, will likely find new strength in their prayers.
